User accounts can take up precious Disk Space on your Mac, so if your roommate has moved out and no longer needs the files and folders they left behind, then why not delete them..?
Once a new user has been added to your Mac their account name will appear on the Accounts preferences dialog box. You can also find them by going to Apple menu > system preferences > Users & Groups icon > and under Other Users.
If you are the administrator of the computer you will be able to edit a users account or delete them altogether.
Note: The first account ever created when you boot up your new Mac automatically becomes the administrator of the computer, but you can create other administrator roles when you add on new users, it depends what type of account you select at the time you created the new user.
Beware: Always tell a new user that you are planning to delete them, even if they annoy you try and refrain from wiping off their account altogether as it will make it difficult to get to their saved files. Luckily, their files and hard work and paid for items like apps, games and movies will not be instantly trashed. So if you accidentally delete a user, you can still access their files via the main administrator account.
