Everyone knows a calendar is an essential bit of kit to keep life flowing smoothly. With one forever by your side you will never miss a doctors appointment, a Childs big match, family gatherings, meetings at work or a crucial anniversaries. Unfortunately it is not practical to squeeze an A4 calendar into ones handbag each morning but thankfully the geniuses at Apple Mac have come up with a handy solution – the Mac calendar!
In fact this electronic version is even better than the traditional paper calendars. It is compact and lightweight, can store detailed events and even send you a reminder. What’s more, your Mac calendar application can seamlessly synchronize with other Apple devices such as an iPod or iPhone using iCloud.

On previous Mac systems you will find your Calendar Application inside your Mac Dock on your desktop. If you can not see it there then you will certainly find it inside your Mac Launchpad app. Alternatively you can search for it using your Spotlight search feature, just tap in ‘Calendar’ into the search box.
Once you locate the Mac Calendar icon just click on it once to boot it open.

Adding and Editing Events on Mac Calendar
Unlike the conventional paper calendars we love to hang on our kitchen walls, you can add as many events to one day as possible. Instead of writing a code like few words into the mini boxes i.e. pick dog groomers 1ish, Mac calendar allows you to be very detailed and specific. You can get carried away writing the various times, attaching maps of the event locations and even add additional notes.
You are not limited by space either and are free to list as many tasks, errands, appointments and social gatherings as you like. In fact, in one single day there is enough space to assign detailed events every hour.

Creating ‘Multiple’ Mac Calendars
Your Mac Calendar is an amazing little application than enables you to easily organize your life. The busier your life is the better Mac calendar is for you as it you can create ‘Multiple Mac calendars’. So that is a separate calendar for different areas i.e. one for work, one for social events and another for your gruelling exercise regime etc.
While I would personally prefer to gaze at pictures of cute piglets as I check out the the day aheads errands and scheduled appointments, it would be a bit OTT to have gallery of kitten calendars littering your walls. Plus you would need to have tiny mouse hand writing to fit all the tasks into the individual boxes assigned to each given day.
